Recently I had a conversation with a friend about memorizing scripture. I said it is imperative that we begin to teach children at a young age to memorize God's word, as I am finding the older I get the harder it is to memorize, or at least retain what I try to memorize. This friend said why memorize? I have my Bible and I can look it up when I want.
My response was that some day we might not have a Bible to read. Right now we live in America, the land of the free and brave, but the day may come when we are not as free as we are now.
America has dropped her high standards and morals and we can no longer truly say that we are a nation that trusts wholly in God and puts Him first. anyway, I digress... :)
the Bible says that we need to hide God's word in our hearts..............
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
may we never take God or His word for granted! We need to be daily reading it, and hiding it in our hearts, to lean on at another time, to share with another...............
I love to journal and write and I hope that my blog posts will be an encouragement to many.
